Children are guided by dedicated and experienced educators who use proven teaching strategies to ensure each student discovers their path to success. With a research-based curriculum and differentiated instruction, we tailor learning to meet the unique needs of every child.
During their time at SLL, children will develop a strong, lasting bond with our staff, fostering a sense of security that encourages a love for learning and exploration.
Children at SLL are immersed in a rich learning environment that offers diverse opportunities to engage with and explore different learning styles.
Welcome to Sea of Life Learning Daycare, a licensed home daycare! I’m Jamie Brewton, and I’m excited to be your child’s primary educator. With 10 years of experience teaching in both Chicago Public Schools and suburban districts, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion for early childhood education. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Type 04 certification) and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Administration and Special Education.
The name Sea of Life Learning Daycare reflects the endless opportunities for growth and discovery that await every child here. Just as the sea is vast and full of possibilities, so too is the journey of learning at SLLD. Our core values—intentionality, consistency, and accountability—guide everything we do and shape the educational experience we offer.
I am thrilled to partner with you in your child’s education, and I look forward to a year of growth, exploration, and achievement. My goal is to foster independent learning in each child, supporting their development across all subjects, including Social-Emotional Learning, Science, Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, Writing, and more. To achieve this, I will need your support. After all, it takes a village!
As a valued member of our village, your active involvement is key to your child’s success. This might include ensuring homework is completed, attending parent workshops, or helping with school supplies. Inside your child’s homework folder, you’ll find study sheets in sheet protectors—please do not remove these. Review them regularly with your child, as consistent engagement is essential.
Why is Homework Important?
Research shows that homework can help develop better study habits and lead to academic growth.
As part of our village, here’s what you can expect regarding homework:
I am a strong advocate for an eco-friendly environment, so most of our communication with parents will be digital as part of our “Go Green” initiative. Please ensure that we have an up-to-date email address and phone number on file so we can stay connected. I look forward to an amazing year of learning and growth, and I’m excited to work alongside you to help your child thrive!
